WHY?

If you know me, you know that I am a huge animal lover. I've been this way my entire life and I swear every other week I gave my mother a heart attack with all the stay animals I would bring home that I found. My heart will always belong to the feline though. Cats always have a special place in my heart and when I hear of abandoned or tortured cats it honestly makes me tear up from that fact. I've been very lucky in my life to have people around me who accept my love of felines. I currently have three little angels that I have adopted and given a loving home.

You are probably wondering where I am going at with this rant right? Well trust me I do have a point I am trying to make. The fact is, my friend, the one whom I adopt my girls from has a beautiful little grey tabby four-week-old kitten. This kitten is beautiful in every way possible. Probably wondering why I'm rambling about an average kitten. Well this little guy, currently named Kermit, is blind. At first it was just in one eye, but over the past week the little guy has gone blind in both eyes. My friend is lucky enough to be friendly with a few vets. This is the part that really bothers me. The vet actually suggested to my friend to put the kitten to sleep.

Now, i'm all for putting an animal down if they are suffering greatly. If they are in pain or have a disease that can not be cured. This little innocent kitten, however, is perfectly healthly and eats like a champ. I'm still agast at the fact that a vet would suggest putting him down. I know he will never have the quality of life that a cat with vision would have but at the same time would you put down your child if they were blind? No, I didn't think so. This kitten deserves to be given a chance at life.

The minute she told me what the vet said my heart started to hurt and tears came to my eyes. Who was this woman to decide that this kitten didn't deserve to continue on? I'm slightly furious.

I'm also on a quest to find this beautiful little boy a home. Below you will find his picture. If you or someone you know is looking to provide a home for this beautiful special needs boy, do not hesitate to contact me.
