Teeter - Toronto, ON: October 17, 2008

When we started this site we never really had any goals in mind, we just wanted to do it mostly because we all have a mutual love for music and life in general. When the opportunity arose for us to attend the release party for Teeter's album Heating Up, it was something we were all extremely excited about. The date was Friday October 17, 2008 and the place was Reverb in Toronto. As a group (Me, Manda, Jen and Caity) we made our way down for a night of great music and a chance to sit down and talk to an amazing up and coming band. I was able to take the time to interview Tommy and Paul, whom were extremely nice and very easy to talk to. Of course, that was just the beginning of the night, which in my opinion started off with a huge bang. We hung around for a while and watched as people came, saw as the band talked to random people and just hung out outside. It was nice to see the solid fan base that Teeter has within the area. There were people who came that night not because it was an album release party, but because they wanted to see some amazing music.

We stepped inside to catch the first band, who happened to be the young group of boys in Hasket. To say they surprised us would be an understatement. They were jam packed with talent and extremely eager to talk to us about their music and where things were possibly headed in the future. Also on the bill were From Man In Ghost hailing from St. Catherines. They literally had us all enjoying a really good time both on and off stage with their antics. The last opening band we were able to catch the performance of (well me personally anyway) was Toronto natives The Last Forecast. Again, for a person seeing them for the first time, they blew us away. Of course Mandy K came all the way from Buffalo, New York to provide some amazing vocals and entertainment to the eager crowd. These Silhouettes were the last band to take the stage, and they made the crowd bounce and created a great pathway for the main act. We got the chance to see them walking around outside preshow and saw their down to earth nature as they hung out with fans and just struck up conversation with random people. It would seem Teeter has some amazing taste in music. Each and every opening band had something special to offer to the crowd, and of course the crowd responded with extreme energy and applause through out the entire night.

It's not too often that I get to attend tiny shows. I mean I love them, but it's not often I get to ones that are extremely intimate as this release party was, where everyone is there for one specific reason and that is to have a good time and enjoy themselves. And it was after everything was settled and they were setting up for Teeter that we figured things out as to where we were going to shoot our video for the night and got in place. The lights went down and Teeter hit the stage to a loud cheer and a mass of happy, screaming people. I had been previously listening to the album on repeat, just enjoying each and every song that appeared in my speakers. With the first song Standing Outside Your Window, I was singing and dancing along at the side of the stage. I had never actually experienced the band live and to say I was enjoying them was a mild understatement. There is something about the music that Teeter create that just puts a smile on your face and completely draws you into it. I spent a bit of the time watching the crowd during their set, and to see the smiles and the excitement on their faces when they watched the band made me feel extremely lucky to be a part of that experience.

Overall, I would have to say that being given that chance to not only cover the release party but enjoy some amazing music is an experience that will never be forgotten or unappreciated in any way. Teeter is a band that you all need to watch out for in the future, a band that will make its presence felt (and not just because we said so). The talent present within the five guys comprising the band and their overall genuine nature and humility makes you realize that sometimes, just sometimes the good guys do make it.
