Of Sketchy Sound Systems
GUEST RANT BY LINZY Imagine this. You are sitting in your little computer area, doing whatever you like to do on the internet. Naturally, and as quite usual, you have music playing. Lets say, for the sake of an example, Owl City’s “Tip of the Iceberg”. Things seem to be alright, your really pleased with your shiny new high speed, and just to make it even better, its approaching your favorite part of the song. That one part, the one that makes you want to stand up and dance like a true maniac all around your living room as if you’ve just won the lottery. Got your million dollar happy dance prepared yet? See? You know which part I’m talking about, you know that one little moment in your favorite song that you could listen to for almost ever and a day. You wait for it… And wait for it… And wait for it… Now it’s the last moment before the part you’ve been anticipating springs through… “And that’s just the tip of the iceberg, Ill do whatever it takes…” Ready? Wait… Why isn’t it playing yet?! “Whatever it takes Whatever it takes Whatever it takes Whatever it takes Whatever it takes Whatever it takes…” Mhmmm, that’s right. Guess who’s computer is skipping again? Yours. You slam your fist down into the desk beside you. You knock your computer’s virtual teeth around a bit. You scream in slight frustration. “Whatever it takes Whatever it takes Whatever it takes Whatever it takes…” That little skit right there, is a good example of one of my biggest, all time pet peeves I find it even worse than mascara flakes and barking dogs. Yes, even worse than when your tooth brush tube refuses to give in; and when it finally does, it send goop flying all over your bathroom counter. Not as bad as when people’s voices go high pitched when they pronounce T’s or S’s, but believe me, its up there. Times like these literally make me want to suffocate bunnies. Cute ones. With adorable cotton tails. What would I do to make my iTunes music stop skipping like a heavily scratched CD? Well... “Whatever it takes Whatever it takes Whatever it takes”
