LeATHERMOUTH - Buffalo, NY: September 6, 2008

Six hours of being stuck in traffic. Five minutes at the border. That was the beginning of the road trip that some of us at the Sound Faction took to Buffalo to have a chance to partake in the LeATHERMOUTH show on September 6 at Club Infinity. In usual form we arrived way to early and were welcomed by some rain showers from time to time. I'm sure some people wonder who LeATHERMOUTH is, well it is none other than Frank Iero's side project (and please don't tell me you don't know who he is, otherwise I will have to school you, and school you hard). Of course this show was also part of Reggie and The Full Effect farewell tour. From the beginning I think we were all expecting it to be an epic night.

After waiting around for what felt like eternity, we were finally ushered into the club with a very polite doorman (if you can even call him that, what would be a correct term?). We headed through the bar area and towards the floor of the club to settle ourselves against the barricade, for what we were hoping was going to be an amazing night. I'm going to be honest here and tell you that I was shocked at first at how tiny the venue was, but then realized that it worked perfect for the show that we were about to see. Settling into our spots and then having to deal with the annoying half drunks that were floating around before the show even started. We watched the first band set up and then opened our ears and relaxed to listen.

Warship, the opening act of the night, surprised me to be honest. Though I had not been sure as to what I had been expecting, I was pleasantly surprised by the talent that these guys brought to the stage. From mind blowing vocals to fantastic guitar riffs, there wasn't a point in their set that I was at all left hanging. Warship is a band to watch out for, and one that I think has great things in store for them. I don't think a better band could have been picked for that night as an opener. They kept the energy just where it needed to be and gave us all something to pump us up for the rest of the night. We had a chance to talk to the lead singer after the show and he was humble and extremely anxious to talk to the fans that were gathered around. As a side note, they have an album dropping on November 4, 2008; I think that it needs to be picked up by each and everyone.

Then the band that we had waited out in the cold and rain for, for hours was about to take the stage. LeATHERMOUTH were about to hit the stage. We watched as the band set everything up and then it was time. This was the first time that any of us here at The Sound Faction were getting to experience Frank Iero's side project up close and personal and we were all extremely excited about the chance to. The stage was small, but worked well for all members, especially a screaming and 'rampaging' Frank. I wasn't sure what I was expecting from the show really, but I enjoyed every second of the heart thudding music and ear splitting screaming. It was a rush and an amazing time, because there wasn't a second of peace at all. I completely enjoy the fast pace, thumping that came from that night. After the set was done, we all stood there slightly breathless and unsure of where to go at that point. Of course it was this point we headed back to merchandise and picked up everything that we wanted and needed.

We were lucky (and unlucky) that night to be able to obtain an interview with Frank Iero for our website. This, however, caused us to miss the rest of the show as we prepped for the interview to come. So to MC Chris and Reggie and The Full Effect, we are sorry that we weren't able to see your sets. Overall, our trip to Buffalo was a resounding success. And Frank, if you for some reason are reading this, remember that I owe you a smoke ;]
