I am BACK!

I am BACK!

...Okay, well, mostly. The lot of you may, or may not have noticed, but there has been a distinct lack of Manda content on the site lately. I feel horrible about my... how shall we put it? Unexpected hiatus...? Yeah, that works! Unexpected hiatus, but jeeze, did I pick an awesome time to come back!

I'm not sure how many of our dear readers know us personally, or know people who know us, or... just have creepy ways of finding things out about us, but we've had a very interesting few days here at TSF! How interesting, you may ask? Well, the hate mongering, sabotage inducing, angry hilarity kind of interesting!

Yes, you read that right. If you need a moment to go over that last sentence again I understand. I'll give you a moment.

...

Okay, ready to continue? I'm not going to call anyone out when it comes to this. We're much bigger than finger pointing and revenge, but needless to say, I'm very torn between finding the whole situation hilarious and just a really, really big piss off.

A competitor 'Zine decided that they didn't like us too much, and decided to try and destroy Caity's computer via virus. Thankfully she was able to stop it before it got all of our access information, and before it destroyed her computer in general. Yeah. They went that far.

I can't help but think of this whole thing as a "can't we all just get along?" type of situation. I'm dumbfounded that some people would be so jealous of our little piece of internet that they feel the need to try and destroy it. This is where my unofficial hiatus comes back into play.

Prior to all of this happening, I was in a very odd place in my life. I had things that needed to be sorted out, situations that needed to be dealt with, and just in general, I needed to get myself together. Call it an early quarter life, but I'm back, and I'm my old self again (if not an improved version of myself), which is why this whole situation has me peeved.

I've realized how important this site is to me. I've remembered again why I've put so much time and effort into it. I've remembered my love of everything music. Big bands, small bands, people we find, and people who come to us. The mutual respect that we've all gained for each other, and from (and for) the people we work with.

How dare anyone feel they have the right to try and take all this away from us? How dare anyone decide that they're better than us. This site is ours. We have built all this from the ground up. We have all gone on so many limbs for it. We've missed work, school, social obligations- all for this site. This is my, and all of our, baby. I may be the creator, this may have been my idea, but my girls have put in just as much, if not more, effort into this as anyone.

I'm proud of us for all that we've accomplished. And trust me, we've accomplished a lot. If you have issues with us for one reason or another, fine, but don't you dare try to take something that's this important to us away.

Keep in time for next time: We have a legal team. We're being nice this time around. Kids make mistakes. But next time?

Next time we will get whoever we need to get involved, involved. And we will do what needs to be done to make things right.

To everyone who has been defending us? Thank you. In the words of our very own Jen: You guys are friggin rockstars! You all mean the world to us.

I'm so glad to be back. I promise you'll all be hearing from me a lot more these days.
