While cruising around Myspace for new and interesting bands to listen to and write about, I stumbled across the Myspace of Jason Helwig Loves You. I'm all into trying anything once, so I clicked on the link and was greeted with spashes of bright colours, profile graphics, and the mellow jazzy keyboard riff and smooth vocals of his song "Tragic". Immediately I wanted to hear more, I listened to his myspace uploads, looked him up on YouTube, and I knew then and there that I had to talk to this guy, get an insight on him, and share his sound with you, dear readers!

Well, I got my wish, and I got the chance to talk to him about his music, his upcoming album, and the fact the life and death situation of Halo...

We'll start off with roll call! Who are you, and what do you do?

I am Jason Helwig Loves You. I produce, sing, write, and play guitar, drums, piano, and bass.

For people who have never seen you play, how would you describe your sound and live show?

Live....I think I just try to sing with as much soul as I can. Hopefully people can feel that as I perform.

What does the future have in store for you as a musician? Can we expect to hear more?

Well....I'm currently working on an album. Flying out of the country later this year to put the final tweaks and you should hear the new stuff early next year. Besides that.......I have been producing a number of songs ready to be put on my myspace.....VERY SOON =]

What are your major influences when writing your music, and what's the one influence that people are surprised to hear about?

The main influence when I write are personal experiences or the experiences of the close people around me. I love to move....I LOVE FUNK! =]

An influence that often surprise people are the old Super Mario Games!! and Jesus! hah He was a poet and just went around helping people! How dope is THAT?! =]

Out of any song in the world, what one do you most wish you had written?

In My Life by The Beatles. AMAZING!!

Do any of you have any pre or post show rituals?

Not really, every show is different. I Just make sure that I have fun!

Do you have any funny little quirks that you're cool with sharing? Special talents or anything like that?

I feel like I have two stomachs. One for Milkshakes and one for everything else.

What is your favorite song or lyric that you've written, and why?

"And you understand that when I'm playing Halo it's a matter of life and death, just like you and your dvd's of The Oc, you be Summer and I'll be Seth"

I like this one cause girls gotta understand....don't mess with us when we are playing our videogames! hah

The Sound Faction is make up of five girls (...and Ed) who are random at best, love to laugh and make others laugh. We try to ask all of our interviewees five random questions at the end, so here goes.

If you could be any old school "Rock God" for a day, who would you be, and how would you abuse the power?

Mc Hammer. I would patent parachute pants as a fashion and make MORE MILLIONS!!

Which is worse: Cheeto fingers, or juice mustaches?

Juice Mustache?!?! I don't think I've encountered one of those before, so they MUST be worse!

If you could have any non-standard (re: flying, x-ray vision... comic book stuff) superpower, what would it be?

The ability to make anyone laugh at any moment. People would love me and give me free EVERYTHING! hah

If you could be the champion of anything, what would it be? (If you say "the world" we all start laughing hysterically, just so you know.)

The champion at saying the most clever things EVER, But then I might be tempted to make everyone feel stupid!

What was your favourite bath toy as a kid?

The blue crayon shaped soap, I would looked like the Blue Man group's lost little brother at the end of my bath.
