God Hates The World (But Not Canada)
![]() Just when the world recovered from the gut-punch gutter-trash that is the Westboro Baptist Church (known for God Hates Fags and God Hates America as well as the picketing of funerals and memorial services of soldiers fallen in service) the group stands up together with an anthem for the ages. In all the glamour of "We Are The World" (and a melody rip-off to boot) the bigots stand up for all that is wrong with this world in an anthemic statement of pure and utter hate. As much as this makes me want to be angry, it just doesn't. They're losing their power with each ridiculous "statement" they make. At first it was teeth-grindingly horrible to see these people doing what they're doing, but when they get reduced to mockery by MUSIC VIDEO is when you just have to laugh at them. "Oh! OH! I know... in the wake of Jacko's death, let's sing We Are The World! But like- like-... make it mean cuz... you know.... god hates everyone." My favourite part might be the Beyonce of the group belting out such powerful lines as "so just stop it!" And the dude at the end waving the Canadian flag proudly in the back. Because as the world knows, Canada does not have gay people. Or soldiers. Or any sin whatsoever. Not a joke however is the disgusting exploitation of a little girl at the end who doesn't even know what she's saying and yet sings disgusting hate with all the adorableness of her first time singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. These people are trash and don't deserve to breathe the same air as decent people, and were I to ever meet a member of this "congregation" you could bet all-in on the fact that I would be in jail for a while as my flash-anger would cause me to punch poster-child Shirley in the trachea. My hope for the people that see this video is not to be hurt by the trash spewing forth from the mass of gutter-slime in that room, but to shake your head and have a laugh at the expense of their bat-shit crazy "preaching". My hope is for all of you to take pride in who you are, no matter if you are gay, straight, bi-sexual, a soldier, a preacher, teacher, grocery store clerk, singer of a band or politician. I fully believe that if there is a God, it isn't a angry vindictive omnipotent being in the sky just waiting to rain fire and brimstone down on us. It is more important to love each other and live our lives the way we believe is right than to fear the end.
