Video Game Review: Fall Out 3

Hello,

So I rented this game, Fallout 3. This is an action RPG. It does the rpg aspect quite well and the action part medium well.

The RPG aspect of the game is phenomenal. It is vast, lets you do almost anything, and it has all the customizing and variety bells and whistles of your typical rpg, which face customizing, and tons of clothing and weapon options. However, since the game is so massive and complex, it would turn new role-players away and any guns-a blazin’ style player doesn’t have it much better.

The action part of the game is fun. You can go first or third person view, which ever you fancy. You can use both ranged and melee weapons, however I found that melee weapons are good only for when you are surprised by a board-with a-nail-in-it wielding radioactive mutant. There is also this cool ranged feature that allows you to target different parts of the enemies body and the fire off your shots in slow motion, cool stuff. However since it is not a shooter, the action is only done medium well and its very hard to take on more than two guys at once without losing most of your health.

Overall, it was a good game for hardcore RPG fans, and those with lots of time, therefore I don’t recommend renting it for a good time for a week, you won’t get very far.
