What Exactly Are You Thinking?

If there isn't one thing I hate more than rude people, its people who are serving the public and just pretend that you aren't even there. I've had two instances this weekend where this happened. I went to spend some time with my family this weekend and my Dad has an addiction to Tim Horton's coffee, so we're going through the drive through, and I get two small chocolate milks for my niece and nephew when the lady at the window decides that instead of getting our milks, she is going to stand there and have a five to ten minute conversation with the other worker. I mean granted we are all guilty of just standing there and talking on the job, but you have a customer right there in front of you, and you are going to stand in their face and talk? I'm sorry but where is your customer service? Or for that matter your actual manners. It really urks me to no end to be honest. Then again today, I went to the bagel shop by my work, I just wanted a soda, so I'm standing at the cash waiting for her to finish serving the lady in front of me, and then she just stands there at the counter for a second and starts talking to the other lady working there. I'm like 'what the heck is this' so I moved directly into her line of sight and tapped the can on the counter until she answered me. Then she had to make sure that's all I wanted, and then ask the other lady how much it was, before she took my money. Then while she's ringing it in, she talks to the other girl for another five minutes. I just stood there tapping my foot. I can be a pretty patient person. But this was grating on my nerves, I finally leaned over the counter and asked for my change. Aren't chats for when you have no customers standing there waiting for service?

Now, on to my next topic of the rant, most of the people here at The Sound Faction, know of my encounter with a man who owns a furniture place downstairs from my work. I won't really go into detail about it, but let's just say he is a mean bitter old man with nothing better to do then yell at people. So, today, we here at the office noticed that he had posted nice colorful signs on his front door. As, you can see from the photos, now please tell me, how does he plan to keep his business open with garbage such as this? Its one thing to be a jerk, but it's another to tell people NOT to come into your store unless they are going to buy something from you. I've showed these pictures to a few random people and they all got the same reaction that I got from them. What the hell? I'm sorry but this isn't how you run a business, he is completely unprofessional. Okay well first off, what middle aged man rides around on a bicycle and wears short shorts and shirts full of stains and then has any right to tell other people what to do? I mean that's why a lot of people go into stores right? To browse? To look at things and SEE if they are interested. If people are like me, I'm an impulse buyer, I might not be looking for anything but if I walk in and see something I want I'm going to buy it. But, if I see a sign like that, I'm going to warn everyone to stay away and not even attempt to step foot inside.
