Elias The Band, formerly known as Elias, released their second album "Our Sophomore Effort" on Blacktop Records. On first listen, the music isn't really the type I'm into, however, I'm sure there are others out there that dig this band. I will say, however, that Elias The Band has grown musically from their first album.

The tracks sound Silverstein influenced, but the singer doesn't quite seem to have the same range, which results in pounding beats and hard-rock guitar riffs, but a slightly off-key vocalist, which kind of throws me off. Unfortunately, I'm not able to give this album a glowing review as I've done in the past, but like I said, I'm sure that there are people out there who listen to it and love it, it's just not in my style.

The artwork for the album by Jon Klassen is my favourite part, I've been a fan of his artwork for a while, so it was cool to see that. If you want to check out the band's music, check out their MySpace at
