Bowling For Soup - The Great Burrito Extortion Case
![]() The Great Burrito Extortion Case (Seriously, that's what it's called...) is everything we've come to expect from my favourite comedy-rockers, Bowling For Soup. The album is filled to the brim with catchy guitar riffs, tongue-in-cheek lyrics, laughter, banter, and of course, photos of men in wedding dresses. (Thanks for the backless dress, Chris, you look lovely!) Out of the band's career albums, Rock On Honorable Ones (1998), Let's Do It For Johnny! (2000) Drunk Enough To Dance (2002), A Hangover You Don't Deserve (2004), Bowling For Soup Goes To The Movies (2005), and finally The Great Burrito Extortion Case (2006) I have to say that this latest album replaces Let's Do It For Johnny as my favourite Bowling For Soup album. They really stepped it up a notch for this one! As much as I've been anticipating this album if only for the (about time) official release of "A Friendly Goodbye", the song "I'm Gay" has taken the cake of giggle-inducing tracks! "And we all sympathize with your torn apart heart/and your really artistic worldy view/it sells records when you're sad these days/it's super cool to be mad these days/I think rock 'n roll is really funny when it's serious!" Lyric excerpt from "I'm Gay". The tracks "When We Die" and "Much More Beautiful Person" from The Great Burrito Extortion Case can be heard on the band's Myspace Page or check out their YouTube Channel for music videos, live stuff, and more! And by the way, Jaret, that shade of lipstick is so you!
