I'm sure you've heard it by now, the nearly four minute long audio of Christian Bale going ballistic on a Director of Photography on the set of the upcoming Terminator movie. (No, I am not going to link to it.) I mean, he really rips into this guy, and won't stop... it's sad. I'll be completely honest here, my heart broke hardcore when I learned that Christian Bale is in fact... a dick.

He has been one of my favourite male actors for a long, long time. He's in almost all of the movies that I cherish and love, Treasure Island... Newsies, Swing Kids, Velvet Goldmine... Little Women... the list goes on. I was SO bummed out after hearing Christian Bale go off on this guy like that, that a few hours later, when I tried to watch Newsies, I couldn't sit through it, it just made me ANGRY.

I understand that Christian Bale is a method actor, I understand that he was probably in a highly stressful situation. But that four minutes of him screaming at the DOP was out and out a severe temper tantrum. I can imagine him stomping his feet and threatening not to breathe. Come on, man... you're better than that.

Sure Mr. Bale, we know that you're a great actor, and being paid a pissload for the movie, no doubt, but that doesn't mean that you're better than anyone else, especially the people doing the grunt work behind the scenes of the movie that'll make you look good. So shut the f*ck up, man. Go pack your cookies and pennies and a blanket and threaten to live in a tree, whatever. You'll come back when you're hungry.
